Orig. review:
Short of sounding like a couple of lushes, to say my wife and I enjoy wine is a bit of an understatement. We have a speed wine opener, but have torn through several cheap plastic foil cutters. We finally decided it was time to get a quality one.

After reading Amazon reviews, we ended up with BonJour World's Best Foil Cutter. I was a bit surprised to see it was all plastic except for the blades, and my wife *hated* the amount of downward pressure required to use it (pushing down engages the blades). However, I was extremely surprised to have it break after 4 months. As a result, to vent my frustration I wrote up a one star review of that product.

Now back to the search and I saw this stainless steel cutter. I'm not sure if I missed it during the first search, or just ignored it because there were no reviews of it yet. However, this cutter is, in a word, awesome!

It's all metal so it has a good, solid feel when holding it. The jaws are spring loaded and stop slightly wider than a bottle opening. Squeeze, a quick twist left and right, and you have a perfect cut.

I'll admit, I didn't expect this kind of construction for what I consider an extremely low price, but wow! This is probably the best "value per dollar" purchase I've *ever* made!

On one of the cheapie plastic ones we previously owned, it had a magnet on the frame, which made it handy to store. The Dalla Piazza does not have a magnet, which would be the only improvement I'd want (and then there's probably an equal number of people who wouldn't want the magnet). However, that was an easy fix with a little epoxy. Now it truly is perfect. I love it, my wife loves it - Look no further, this is the cutter you want.

(More customer reviews)Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Henckles.I think they are the best knives on the planet.However I feel like I got ripped of with this set in particular.

The picture shows what I believed was a kudamono parer.So I was very suprised when it arrived to find a typical 4 inch parer which was exactly the same as the one I received in another set I bought. But when you read the description, it IS listed as a 4 inch parer, which is what I got.I suppose I should have paid closer attention to the details, but the picture showed what I wanted and I thought the description was just describing what was pictured.

I just wanted to write this review so no one makes the same mistake I made.The knives themselves are the best I've ever had.

Once you've got the knack of using this you will be a fan. Only drawback is that it is small, and I constantly misplace it in the drawer with kitchen gadgets. I had an old one of these for years and have lived in fear of losing it so when I saw this offering I snapped it up and it is just like the original, only brightly colored.

(More customer reviews)I had about given up on finding a quality turner. All that's left in "kitchen" departments in stores are flappy silicone discs, and round plastic mini-sewer grates nailed to handles. You know the ones I mean. You couldn't get under an egg to save you with those.
The Lamson high-carbon stainless steel turners have a flexible but very strong blade. Tough enough for my kitchen-brute husband but fine enough to turn an omelette delicately. No rust, no crust, no more agitation!

(More customer reviews)I use this constantly, every day.I love this cutting board.It still looks great, and it cleans up like a dream.It doesn't seem to stain- and I don't know why.I could probably look up why, but I'm lazy.I keep it leaning on the counter, and bring it over to the island when I am cooking- and I often use just 1/2 of the board- but for large cooking projects it's great to be able to have such a large surface available.I do have very sharp knives (Shun) and I notice that duller knives scratch the board- so I don't use those on it.If you have dull knives, your board might not stay nice- I don't know.I don't know if you can keep any cutting board nice if you are using dull knives.
